Marion: So, that's it. End of a year and end of a decade.

Michaela: Ich kann es kaum glauben. Es scheint als hätten wir vor kurzem erst das neue Jahrtausend gefeiert.

Michaela: I can't believe it. Seems like yesterday we celebrated the new millennium ten years ago.

Marion: Da stimme ich dir voll zu.

Marion: I totally agree.

Michaela: Ich hoffe die nächsten zehn Jahre werden weniger deprimierend sein.

Michaela: I hope the next ten years will be less depressing.

Marion: Das hoffe ich auch. Genug Rezession, Terrorismus, Umweltkatastrophen und Kriege.

Marion: I hope so too. Enough of recession, terrorism, environmental disasters and wars.

Michaela: Ja, es war furchtbar. Wenn es einen Gott gibt, dann ist es bestimmt ein Mann!

Michaela: Yes, it was horrible. If there's a god it must be a man!

Marion: Weil keine Frau so einen Mist bauen würde?

Marion: Because no woman could mess up like this?

Michaela: Genau, haha.

Michaela: Exactly, haha.
